Death Penalty in New Zealand

The death penalty, or capital punishment, has long been a debated issue in New Zealand and around the world. Should we have it? Yes, no? This is the ultimate question really. Well my answer is yes, New Zealand should be an advocate for capital punishment…..again.

Over the next couple of posts or so I shall be examining the reasons we as a nation should bring back the chair. So stay tuned folks!

  1. Good topic, personally I don't think that the chair should be brought back haha but I do think that New Zealand punishment is very soft and that it should be revised to ensure less criminals are able to to get away with inexcusable crime.

  2. Interesting topic Isaac :)

I think I agree with Zane. I'm anti-death penalty but something definitely needs to be done.

I look forward to reading your arguments though :)

  3. Nice topic. I don't know the death penalties or capital punishments for New Zealand. But I definitely don't think that they should bring back the chair. That is just a horrible way to die..

  4. This topic is considerably intricate and controversial, which makes it difficult to deal with. Especially, the conclusion is based on pure speculation and deduction, since as far as I know death penalty hasn't been adopted for quite a long time, therefore the consequences of the reestablishment of death penalty is still unpredictable.
